Mae Bowen's Beef and Biscuit Casserole

1 to 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
8 ounces tomato sauce
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp onion salt
10 canned biscuits
1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1 egg, slightly beaten


Brown and drain the beef.

Add the tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic salt, and onion salt. Simmer while preparing the biscuits.

Pull the biscuits apart. Cover the bottom of a baking dish with half of them. Reserve the other half for the top of the casserole.

Combine 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, the sour cream, and the egg.

Remove the meat mixture from the heat. Stir in the cheese mixture. Pour into the baking dish.

Cover the top with the remaining biscuits and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
