Norma Bowen's Corndogs

8 hot dogs
flour to coat the corndogs
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp cooking oil


Roll the 8 hotdogs in flour.

Combine the flour, cornmeal, paprika, salt, garlic salt, and pepper.

Add the milk, egg and oil.

Beat the mixture with a whisk until smooth.

Coat each hot dog evenly with the batter. Fry in oil 1" deep and 375 degrees in temperature for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain, and insert wooden skewers in the end of each.
