You can have the students make these, and rotate throughout the room! Students fold their papers in half the long way (hot dog style), then fold the paper in thirds in the other direction so that their paper is divided into 6 sections. Each student takes a verb and conjugates it in the form you desire (present, future, etc.), putting the subject pronoun and the verb both in the same section. Then the students cut the subject pronouns off with straight lines and make zig-zag cuts between the verb roots and the endings. Students now mix the pieces up and try to put them back together. They should work in pair groups, and have only a small, set amount of time to finish their puzzles. If the students are sitting in pods of four, this works well, because the two pairs of students can switch cards after solving their own puzzles. When the time is up, students rotate to another table and another set of puzzle pieces. As they get faster, you can reduce the time they spend at each puzzle. You can also keep track of the partner groups that "win" each round, and the team with the most wins at the end can receive some type of prize. You can provide an extra bit of work for students who finish early by making sure the papers that the students receive on which to make their conjugation puzzles have pictures of work by artists from Spanish-speaking countries on them. They can discuss the pictures using whatever level of vocabulary they have (colors, weather, clothing, etc.).
